"Make A Difference": Volunteering | Kim and Beth at the Women's Center of Waukesha

Listen: We first heard from the Women's Center of Waukesha on Day 20 of last year's Meet The Need initiative ( check out the post here). During that campaign, we had the chance to make first-contact with a number of organizations we've been fortunate enough to follow up with, getting a bit deeper inside their work. And for this particular interview with volunteers who work at the Women's Center of Waukesha, we made our first ever trip outside of Milwaukee County to do an on-site interview.

An important piece of any volunteering experience -- every volunteer should feel comfortable with the work they do. Some folks become volunteers in order to stretch their limits, while some prefer operate within boundaries they've been able to identify for themselves. In this piece, we meet Women's Center of Waukesha volunteers Kim and Beth, who work on opposite sides of the volunteering picture -- one behind the scenes and one working directly with women and their families (scroll to the bottom for the audio piece.)

Before the interview began, I didn't know their roles would intertwine in such a complimentary fashion. Whether behind the scenes or in front, both sides of the coin are equally integral to the operations of the Women's Center.

Learn more about the vital work they do at  the Women's Center of Waukesha on their website. Want to join Kim and Beth as volunteers? You can get involved today -- follow this link to learn more about volunteering opportunities.
