"Make A Difference": 2010 Election | Disagree With Me? Regardless, Let's Go Play Soccer.

Listen: "Even if somebody disagrees with your personal politics, why is it still important that they vote?" In part, this question came from my thoughts about the general tone and tenor of our national dialogue of late -- it seems that more and more frequently, when we disagree with each other, we ask the question "Why are they wrong?" or "What is wrong with them?" rather than "Where are they coming from?"

Biko Baker, Executive Director of the League of Young Voters Education Fund offers his answer, and his understanding, to this question:

"And so, if you're a young person that wants to vote the opposite of me, that's cool. Go do it, let's meet, let's be democratic about it. And when the polls close, let's go play soccer on the soccer field, because we have to build the community regardless."

Biko has a way with words.

Vote on Tuesday, November 2nd! If you need any encouragement to get to the polls, keep checking back on our website and airwaves this week for that extra push. And if you have questions about where to vote on November 2nd, check out our Simplest Milwaukee Election Guide .
