I have been waiting anxiously for the 'The Green Album, a tribute to the legendary Muppets. Previously, I shared Andrew Bird's cover of Kermit The Frog's song "Bein' Green." Well now, NPR is streaming the entire "The Green Album" before it is released on August 23. The album supports the forthcoming Muppets movie, which is due in theaters in the fall.
The album features Muppet cover songs from artists such as My Morning Jacket, Weezer, The Fray, Airborne Toxic Event, Sondre Lerche, and others. The album kicks off with the Muppets' Theme covered by the innovative Ok Go. The album definitely brings back memories sitting with my family watch the Muppets Show.
