What Makes Milwaukee? Home-prepared food! Delores Butler is a Milwaukee foodie resource. This woman, harkening from Dekalb, Mississippi, has lived in our fair city for over 50 years, working at Kohl's (among other things) and canning, preserving, and preparing amazing food from Fondy Farmer's Market.
I had the honor of meeting with Delores at her home, accompanied by Young Kim, Executive Director of Fondy Food Center. We received a crash course in canning and preserving, perused her cast iron collectibles, as well as other vintage gems (such as a really, really old phone..I mean, reallllly old).
