The Haggerty Museum of Art is tucked away on the Marquette University campus. The museum is free and open to not only students, faculty and staff, but to the Milwaukee community.
The museum is designed as a ‘learning laboratory’ that focuses on the visual arts that fit both the mission of Marquette University and the city of Milwaukee. Each exhibition and educational program is designed to foster life-long learning and enjoyment of the arts.
I met Annemarie Sawkins, Haggerty’s Associate Curator, to talk about the museum’s history and the overall thought process that goes into each exhibition.
