With the name like Marijuana Deathsquads for band name, you might be scared to take a listen; however, the man behind this unique Minneapolis group is Ryan Olson. Olson is also the man behind the label Totally Gross National Product, which is responsible for Polica and the supergroup Gayngs. Marijuana Deathsquads experiments and improvises with different styles of music.
The group recently dropped a free mixtape called Tamper. Disable. Destroy. and it features a slew of collaborators including Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, members of Doomtree, Solid Gold, Astronautalis, Har Mar Superstar, Polica's Channy Leaneagh and many others. The mixtape almost seems like a Gayngs reunion. Take a listen to the track "Top Down," which features Channy and Astronautalis (caution: strong language).
