We continue our exploration of the music of the Ohio Players this week on the Seven O'Clock Sample. In 1971, the Ohio Players took a musical departure from their more dirty soul approach to the funk, and created a rich and rhythmic album with PAIN.
In 1990, DJ Premier took the trumpet sample at the 0:35 mark and created a jazzy beat for the Gang Starr song "Lovesick".
