A new year means new music, and new artists to get excited about. That excitement grows larger, when it comes to Milwaukee music. I have new tunes from four Milwaukee artists to start off 2014.
The first song comes from the hip hop group AUTOMatic. The track is called "Sweet Life," and it is from the forthcoming mixtape entitled The Rough Mixtape. The Mixtape will be release on the Milwaukee-based label Dope Folks Records.
Next up, the electronic duo Kiings teams up with Field Report's Chris Porterfield for a soulful folk tune called "Garden." The track will be available on Kiings forthocoming debut album.
Local producer Strehlow just released a killer EP called Nesha on Gold Velour Records. Check out a nice review of the EP by the blog Do Androids Dance.
Finally, we have Light Music. Light Music is relatively a new band consisting of Altos' Brendan Benham, Shae Lappen, Dan Mena, Ed Zuehlke (all of The Four Hundred). This is definitely a band to watch in the coming months. Check out a demo of their song "Inside."
