Every week, 88Nine talks to someone in the music scene about -- well, anything -- for a little less than a minute and a half. Even I don’t know what they’ll talk about. The questions inside the envelopes dictate everything. We have categories of questions for musicians, producers, journalists, DJ’s, promoters and fans. They’ll pick one envelope at random and answer the question for as long as they’d like. We edit it to 88 seconds.
From “strangest gig ever” to “what was your first concert?” or “favorite condiment," get a peek into the lives of the people who make, produce, promote and broadcast the great music you hear in Milwaukee.
Our first guest is Field Report’s Chris Porterfield. He’s currently supporting Bahamas on tour before heading to Europe to open for Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy. Last year Field Report released "Marigolden," our favorite local record of the year. To hear the album with audio commentary, vist radiomilwaukee.wpengine.com/fieldreportday
Questions he picked:
“Is it easier to write a happy song or sad song?”
“What’s the first song you ever wrote?”
