TAP Milwaukee - Top Wisconsin Bands to Watch | Free show at the 88Nine Studio

We are happy to host Tap Milwaukee’s  Wisconsin Bands to Watch on Friday, February 27th at 8PM here at our studio. The five Wisconsin bands were chosen by Tap Milwaukee’s Piet Levy, because they “…possess not only remarkable talent, but the work ethic and business savvy to go far.” Definitely the acts to experience now, and talk about later. Oh yeah, and this event is free and open to all-ages!

Here's the line-up for Friday night's performances. See below to get to know each act.

8:30-8:50-  The Living Statues (Milwaukee)
9:05-9:25-  Pretty Boy Hefner (Madison)
9:40-10:00-  MASKED INTRUDER (Madison)
10:15pm-10:35-  Daryl D Lux (Milwaukee)
10:50-11:10pm-  GGOOLLDD (Milwaukee)

The Living Statues

Milwaukee three-piece with sharp suits and sharp rock 'n roll sensibilities. Smart garage rock with a twist, The Living Statues are primed to break out. Check out their new single recently premiered by Red Bull, the punchy rocker " Blackout." Get a sample of their live set here:

Pretty Boy Hefner

Sam Wright III, a.k.a. " Pretty Boy Hefner" is a teenaged rapper and songwriter hailing from Madison, Wisconsin. Having worked with heavy-weights like DMC (of Run DMC) and growing a large social media following, Pretty Boy Hefner is getting a lot of time in the spotlight. Check him out here:

Masked Intruder

These colorful ski mask and matching Converse adorned "felons" sing pop-punk songs about breaking and entering, muggings and other offences with tongue firmly in cheek.

  D Lux

Milwaukee native emerged from a history of foster homes and abuse, with a relentless devotion to music and performance. His strong talent and soulful R&B anthems have caught the eye of industry elites and fans alike.

WATCH D Lux live in the Journal Sentinel studio.

GGOOLLDD

The quick rise of Milwaukee/Nashville synth-pop group GGOOLLDD may have caught the ?band itself by surprise, but the band's dance-inducing anthems and charistmatic front woman crafts perfect pop that's hard not to enjoy.
