A local education initiative has received a major commitment of financial support over the coming four years.
Milwaukee Succeeds announced partnerships with five charitable foundations, each pledging $1 million dollars, to support its efforts to improve education outcomes for children from "cradle to career," said Executive Director Danae Davis.
"This is an unprecedented commitment in the world of education in this community," Davis said. "It validates what more than 400 volunteer leaders, coordinators, mentors and tutors are working toward – changing our children’s future and putting them first."
Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Bader Philanthropies, Herb Kohl Foundation, Northwestern Mutual Foundation and United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County announced the agreement earlier this month.
