We’re excited to have Maifest, the traditional German celebration of spring, return to Germantown in 2025! Our 2025 celebration will be held at Firemen’s Park, W162 N11900 Park Ave., Germantown, WI on May 16, 17, & 18.
This community celebration opens at 5 p.m. Friday night with German music by The Wunder-Bars and delicious food, including a fish fry. Bella Cain, the hottest “Top 40 Country Group” will be taking the stage at 8 p.m. to heat up the night.
Saturday the celebration continues 11 a.m. to midnight with a large variety of food, German beer, music, dancing, a Sheepshead tournament, and Puzzles and Pints competitions. Our Saturday opening ceremonies begin at 11:30 a.m. and feature our Maifest Burgermeister, crowning of our Maifest Queen, the DANK Choir, and the DANK Dancers performing the traditional Maipole dance. A Sheepshead tournament runs from Noon to 5 p.m., music by Ed Wagner’s Lustige Blaskapelle at Noon, the Biermen at 5 p.m. and The Toys from 8 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The celebration will continue Sunday from Noon to 8 p.m. with dancing by the Pommersche Tanzdeel Freistadt dancers, Puzzles and Pints competitions, and music by Edelweiss and the Kenny Brandt Band. The weekend will be full of fun and Gemütlichkeit for people of all ages. Both Friday and Saturday, beginning at 6:00 p.m., a $10 cover charge will be collected.
Maifest is sponsored by the Deutschstadt Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation. The Deutschstadt Heritage Foundation was founded in 1988. All members of the Deutschstadt Heritage Foundation are volunteers. All proceeds from this annual Maifest celebration are invested back into the community to various charitable events and organizations.

Nitrate is a challenging issue because nitrogen is both a necessary component of agricultural production and an environmental pollutant. This talk will use nitrate data from Wisconsin to illustrate the relationship between human activities and our groundwater. Specifically, how nitrate ends up in our groundwater, why some areas more prone to contamination, and what practices may help improve water quality.
