MKE Concert Pick: Double up with Mitten Fest and State of Sound

Boone & Crockett

Milwaukee’s concert scene has a lot going on, so we look at the shows coming up to find the ones you’ll look back on and be glad you went. Then we add them to our weekly Milwaukee Concert Picks.

Did you hear? Mitten Fest moved!

OK, if you even pay passing attention to Milwaukee’s non-stop festival scene, you already know that the annual cold-weather celebration is temporarily relocating from Burnhearts to Boone & Crockett. But swapping Bay View for Walker’s Point won’t change the not-as-chiily-as-it-could’ve-been enjoyment lined up for this Saturday’s event.

Because this is the Milwaukee Concert Pick, we’ll stick to informing you about the music lineup (our friends at Milwaukee Record have a full guide you can check out):

I know what you’re thinking: “But that only covers the afternoon/evening! What am I supposed to do with my always eagerly awaited Saturday night?” First of all, it’s amazing that you use backslashes in your thoughts. More importantly, we’ve got your nighttime activity covered, and it’s only half a mile up the road.

When you finish festing in your mittens, take the short stroll up South Water Street to Radio Milwaukee for ANOTHER four fantastic local artists helping us unveil our reimagined State of Sound concert series.

We have a whole article explaining the new approach, but real quick — it’s monthly instead of weekly, includes multiple performances vs. just one, features beverages from Discourse and is a ticketed event because we want to pay the artists what they deserve. Doors for this Saturday’s show open at 7 p.m., with music starting at 8 p.m. courtesy of:

  • Sleepy Gaucho
  • dak duBois
  • Wave Chapelle
  • Scam Likely

We’d love for you to buy tickets in advance (and learn about our discount) via the Eventbrite page right here, but you’re also welcome to get them at the door.
