If you had told me, "4AD Records is releasing a 5 CD BOXED SET of Grateful Dead covers", I would've smirked and checked to make sure it wasn't April Fools Day. But it's true and the artists who contribute (The National, Kurt Vile, Phosphorescent, Lucius, (Saint) Stephen Malkmus and many more) are among the leading figures in Indie Rock and many are staples of 88Nine's playlist. This week, we'll celebrate that massive undertaking with 5 O'Clock Shadows every day featuring songs from that boxed set. Today, one of the curating bands--The National--kick it off with their cover of "Morning Dew".
