The past few weeks have taught us a couple things about Milwaukee band Bug Moment. For one, they know a thing or two about promotion. On top of that, they’re persistent as hell.
We’ll do reverse chronological to get the most important news up front: The Wisconsin concert showcase featuring the Milwaukee group is — and I’m a little afraid to say this — 100% on for Saturday, July 22, at 4 Seasons Skate Park. That represents a venue switch from the Culver’s at Bayshore, which had to bow out due to various concerns over noise and safety/security. The cancellation followed several months of effort by Bug Moment to set up the concert, which — to repeat — is now happening at the skate park located at 200 N. 25th St.
The all-ages show is the first ever to take place in the 4 Seasons bowl and features the same lineup as originally announced: Bug Moment; fellow Milwaukee bands Chapped Lips, Honey Creek and Garden Home; and Madison’s Excuse Me, Who Are You? It’s $10 to get in the doors, which open at 6:30 p.m. Music follows at 7 p.m. and will wrap up at 11 p.m.
Long story short, don’t go to the Bayshore Culver’s on July 22 expecting to hear music. It’s still totally cool to go there for butter burgers and Concrete Mixers and whatnot. But, if you’re looking for a concert that day, 4 Seasons Skate Park is where you want to be.
