Joseph making tour detour to play Shank Hall this September

With their North American sojourn opening for The Shins winding down, Joseph will make a side trip to Milwaukee for a date at Shank Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

The Portland-based trio of sisters will play with Free Range before heading down to Chicago the following night to rejoin the tour celebrating the 21st anniversary of The Shins’ seismic debut, “Oh, Inverted World.”

Joseph made their own splash in 2016, when “White Flag” — the first single off the band’s major-label debut album, “I’m Alone, No You’re Not” — reached the top spot on Billboard’s Adult Alternative chart. Three years later, they evolved their dreamy folk sound on follow-up album “Good Luck, Kid” while retaining the familiar — and familial — harmonies that drive their sound.

Tickets for the Shank Hall show are available now online and at the venue’s ticket office, which is open Tuesdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and during all scheduled show dates.
