Summerfest colored in another box on the BMO Pavilion calendar Monday morning, announcing Goo Goo Dolls as the headliner for June 22.

Formed in 1986, the band found its greatest success in the mid-’90s with A Boy Named Goo (1995) and Dizzy Up the Girl (1998). Sandwiched between the two was their inescapable contribution to the City of Angels soundtrack, “Iris,” which topped Billboard’s Radio Songs chart for 18 weeks — a record that stood until The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” surpassed it in April of 2021.

Founding members John Rzeznik (guitar/vocals) and Robby Takac (bass/vocals) have been the constants for Goo Goo Dolls on their 14 studio full-length albums, the most recent of which is 2022’s Chaos in Bloom. They’ll bring that lengthy song catalog to the first Saturday of Summerfest, which now has six of the nine BMO Pavilion headliners in place.

You can find the updated schedule below and get tickets to the Goo Goo Dolls show when tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. this Friday, Feb. 23, online via Ticketmaster and at the Summerfest box office.
