The American Family Insurance Amphitheater lineup for this year’s Summerfest was getting a little static, having last added a headliner back in November (AJR with Carlie Rae Jepsen). Monday morning provided a ripple of activity as Maroon 5 claimed the sixth slot and will play the big stage July 5.

The pop band fronted by Adam Levine are in the midst of a residency at the Park MGM casino’s Dolby Live indoor amphitheater in Las Vegas. They’ve been at it since last March and will end the run in October, with breaks built in for things like the Milwaukee appearance this summer.

Maroon 5’s last studio album was 2021’s Jordi — their seventh full-length LP — although Levine suggested last October that new music will be coming at some point this year. It’s been more than two decades since Songs About Jane set off a string of wild success for the group, which rattled off four straight platinum albums and racked up a truckload of awards, including three Grammys.

If you’re interested in picking up tickets for Maroon 5’s show July 5 at Summerfest, the general sale starts at 10 a.m. this Friday, March 8, online via Ticketmaster and at the festival’s box office near the south gate.
