Mumford & Sons will bring tour to Fiserv Forum this October

It appears people have been eagerly awaiting the return of Mumford & Sons. The British rock band that broke out in the late stages of 2009 have a new album out today, a tour in their native land that sold out in under two hours and — as of Friday morning — a North American tour that includes an Oct. 11 date at Fiserv Forum.

The performance in Milwaukee is part of a multi-leg journey, with the first section starting June 5 in Oregon before the group’s summer schedule wraps up Aug. 8 in New York. They’ll be back at it in the fall, hitting Chicago and St. Paul on Oct. 8 and 9, respectively, before heading south to visit our city.

With the popularity of Mumford & Sons’ U.K. shows, it’s worth taking note of the presales happening in conjunction with the tour announcement. You can register for the artist presale starting right now, and the band has a fan club you can join to get early access. Besides those two routes, there’s general sale that starts at 10 a.m. next Friday, April 4, online via Ticketmaster and at the Fiserv Forum box office.

Be sure to keep your ears peeled when tuned in to 88Nine as well, because we'll have some tickets to give away before they go on sale.

Artist bio

Through four albums, Mumford & Sons — Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane — have accumulated various awards for their work, including two BRIT Awards and two Grammy Awards. They’ve released multiple chart-topping albums, scored a string of festival headlining performances (including Glastonbury) and performed to sell-out crowds on tour across the globe.

While a distinctively Mumford & Sons sound has influenced and inspired recent artists to find huge success in their own right, you’d be hard pressed to find too many acts that follow a similar career trajectory.

Since the band’s last album release, they’ve explored solo passions and reconnected with friends and past collaborators. A particularly prolific run of recent songwriting inspiration has led them back to where it all started for them: a leafy suburb of London, where they put together their newest release, Rushmere.
