We’re already seeing the first signs of the annual explosion of holiday everything, and this week The Hop announced it will once again get in on the action by combining two of the more popular seasonal elements: decorations and music.

Holidays on The Hop will add some festive flair to its two-mile route starting this Friday, Nov. 17, when all 20 of the streetcar’s shelters get a dose of holiday decor and messaging courtesy of its partners: Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, HNTB, Jewish Museum Milwaukee, Milwaukee Downtown BID #21, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Pabst Theater Group.

In addition to those adornments, Holidays on The Hop will bring back its music series featuring live holiday-themed performances happening right on board. From 3-5 p.m. on three separate Saturdays, riders can enjoy free cookies provided by the Baird Center and Levy Restaurants, as well as entertainment from JL Russell Jazz Trio (Dec. 2), Sarah Fierek (Dec. 9) and Milwaukee Choristers (Dec. 16).

“We look forward to once again having The Hop be a safe and convenient option for exploring downtown Milwaukee this holiday season, as well as a holiday destination in and of itself,” Commissioner of Public Works Jerrel Kruschke said in a release. “We have some tremendous performers lined up to bring the spirit of the season on board The Hop and appreciate our many downtown partners whose support makes ‘Holidays on The Hop’ possible.”

You can plan your trip on The Hop this holiday season (or anytime) by visiting its interactive map or using the Transloc app. More information on all things Hop can be found on the streetcar’s official website.
