Every morning throughout Summerfest 2024, we’ll deliver a guide that covers the day’s entertainment and how you can get in the gate free of charge. This is where you’ll find info about the AmFam Amp headliners, eclectic picks from our knowledgeable staff and the music lineup for the day (see the full 2024 Summerfest lineup here).

Today at the AmFam Amp

Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, JID, Rico Nasty, LIHTZ, 7:30 p.m.

Hip-hop gets the big stage on Summerfest’s final day with a bill headlined by platinum-selling Lil Uzi Vert, whose first three proper studio LPs all topped the Billboard 200 album list. Before that, they got the attention of the industry with the 2015 mixtape Luv Is Rage and followed it up with another one in 2016, Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World, led by debut single “Money Longer.”

Lil Yachty might be a little more familiar to 88Nine listeners thanks to his collaboration with Faye Webster, “Lego Ring.” Like tonight’s headliner, Yachty initially turned heads with mixtapes and has since shown himself to be a bit of a genre-hopper, putting out a psych-rock-influenced album titled Let’s Start Here in January of 2023.

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #1

Quad City DJ’s, Digital Underground, C+C Music Factory @ Aurora Pavilion, 4:30-9 p.m.

I love Summerfest for so many reasons — one of them being that there’s at least one old-school lineup to make you drool. Today is the day for me. Quad City DJ’s, Digital Underground and C+C Music Factory!?!?!? I will go and see any lineup featuring these groups just to hear “My Boo,” “The Humpty Dance” and “Do What you Like.” After all, if it’s “Gonna Make You Sweat,” why not?

— Marcus Doucette

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #2

Ivan Cornejo @ BMO Pavilion, 9:30 p.m.

While corridos tumbados singers like Peso Pluma and Natanael Cano put Música Mexicana under a global spotlight, a slightly younger generation of Mexican artists has been making waves with their alternative-rock-influenced sierreño ballads. Ivan Cornejo stands at the forefront of this movement with his soft-spoken but blistering tales of unrequited love.

The 20-year-old singer and self-taught guitarist’s latest single, “Donde Estás,” has already amassed 27 million views despite only being released a few months ago, and the singer’s upcoming Summerfest performance follows his wildly popular and nationally sold out Terapia tour.
