As you may have heard, we’re hosting the 88Nine Fall Ball this Saturday, Sept. 21. It’s less than a week away, which means it’s time to really turn up the hype machine by sharing our lineup of famous names, faces and voices that will take the stage during Karaoke for a Cause.
Maybe you’ve heard one or two of these people belt out a tune before. But it’s safe to say the overwhelming majority of them don’t make public musical performances a big part of their repertoire. As much as we love the rooftop party and 88Nine DJs spinning dance tunes, it’s definitely the karaoke from community leaders and Radio Milwaukee friends that make Fall Ball a can’t-miss event.
Check out the full roster below, and if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?!?!?! Pick them up right now and start looking forward to everything we have planned for this year’s 88Nine Fall Ball.
Dan Jacobs
That’s right, y’all! THE Dan Jacobs. Co-Owner of DanDan and Ester-Ev. Recent competitor on Top Chef. And, most prestigiously, a singer doing Karaoke for a Cause. Dan will run from the catering table and right onto the stage. But when you vote for your favorite singer of the night, will you write [down] his name? Donate to support Dan!
Mandela Barnes
If it feels like you run into Wisconsin’s former Lt. Governor everywhere and that everyone’s talking about him, it’s because this guy never stops. In addition to running for office, Mandela competes in actual running races across the state while ALSO running his PAC, which is of course called Long Run. This Saturday, he can give his legs a break and lean on his voice to sing live! Donate to support Mandela!
Vic Banuelos
You know Vic as half the Milwaukee-based pop duo REYNA. While she’s almost always on stage with her sister, Gab, she’ll do things solo this time and bring a bit more of a killer performance than what you’d see at a REYNA show! Does she have what it takes to win the People’s Choice award? We’ll see, but she’ll definitely bring some smiles to faces! Donate to support Vic!
Marcus Doucette
You know Marcus! He’s been with Radio Milwaukee from the start and was the midday show host on 88Nine for many years. They call him the rising star but will he be able to put that star power to use with an animal of a performance on the live stage? We’ll have to see! Donate to support Marcus!
Molly Snyder
Molly is a senior writer for OnMilwaukee.com who can be found all over Milwaukee, and soon you’ll find her on our stage! A longtime friend of Radio Milwaukee, it seems like she brings a rainbow wherever she goes. Not every wish is heard and answered, but will you support Molly’s dream to perform live in our space? Donate to support Molly!
Glenn Kleiman
You may know Glenn as the former executive director of Radio Milwaukee. But at this year’s Fall Ball, you’ll see a different side of him when he steps up to the mic to sing for your support. It simply wouldn’t be a Fall Ball without Glenn Kleiman on stage — but will he win the coveted People’s Choice award this year? Or will he give it away? Donate to support Glenn!
Lacey Sadoff
Lacey Sadoff is not just the President of Badger Liquor. She’s not just the Chair of the Lacey Sadoff Foundation. She’s not just a distinguished ballroom dancer who competes nationally. She’s also a serious karaoke singer who’s definitely taking the fundraising part of the Fall Ball just as seriously. She’s taken a seemingly insurmountable lead when it comes to financial support for Radio Milwaukee, but the People’s Choice award is a different ball game. You can vote for her Saturday and donate to support Lacey right now!
JoAnna Bautch
JoAnna is a force for good in our city. As the executive director of VIA CDC, she oversees their work building strong, healthy neighborhoods for all of us to thrive. JoAnna has built her career around managing and supporting local nonprofits, and was recently named as one of the Milwaukee Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” A leader in the community, we’ll see if she’s on top of the leaderboard by the end of Saturday’s performances. Donate to support JoAnna!
Marion Gottschalk
Marion is a community leader and a devoted fan of Radio Milwaukee. She’s been in the crowd for past Fall Balls and seen Karaoke for a Cause from afar. That’s how she knows she’s got what it takes to belt it out from the stage this Saturday. Fun fact: She’s related to 88Nine Saturday Evening host Britt Gottschalk, which we promise won’t tip the scales in her favor. Donate to support Marion!
Emily Laga
Co-owner of Shorewood’s Scout Wine Merchants, Emily will bring her love of her community to the stage — and just maybe some vino for you to sip while she sings. She’s a longtime listener of 88Nine and supporter of Radio Milwaukee, but what she really, really wants is to be singing at Fall Ball! Wanna support? Donate to support Emily!
We know we’ve said this before, but in the spirit of live music, consider it an encore: We hope to see you at the Fall Ball this Saturday! Get your tickets today and show support the Karaoke for a Cause singers.
