Immortal Girlfriend seek helping hands for health situation

Immortal Girlfriend; GoFundMe

Immortal Girlfriend have earned their place as a pillar of the Milwaukee music scene. Their shows are quite literally electrifying, and their craftsmanship has raised their profile to a national level — so much so that their first-ever cross-country tour was supposed to pop off this month right after they helped the Vivarium celebrate its first anniversary.

Unfortunately, their Vivarium appearance had to be called off at the last minute and the touring plans scrapped — developments that got a public explanation nobody wanted via a GoFundMe started earlier this week.

A little more than six years ago, Will Bush began a difficult health journey when he was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 32. Several surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy later, Bush was on the mend. But, as anyone who’s experienced this situation knows, there’s very rarely a finish line.

According to the GoFundMe, Bush’s health took a turn back toward the serious recently and required immediate surgery related to his previous cancer diagnosis. Now, the fundraiser organized in part by his brother/music partner Kevin is asking for help as Will recovers, with an eye on returning to the stage and normal life in general.

As of this writing, the effort is a little shy of halfway to its goal and could use a lift from the community. If you’d like to help, visit the GoFundMe and give what you can to someone who’s given so much to Milwaukee’s music scene.
