Brewers reveal new concessions, food trucks, t-shirts

Milwaukee Brewers; Delaware North

You know we’re getting close to MLB’s opening day when the news from the Milwaukee Brewers starts coming in bunches. This week was a prime example, as our local ballclub kept the press releases flowing — primarily about the fan experience for the season ahead. To paraphrase every professional athlete ever, we’re just taking it one news item at a time:

New concessions

Since the Brewers moved over to the new stadium, they’ve done a nice job keeping the food items fresh from year to year. I will never stop talking about the BBQ brisket parfait, which was one of the most perfect stadium concessions ever created and needs to make a triumphant return at some point.

Retired food items aside, the team’s partnership with Delaware North has yielded another batch of culinary rookies that will be at American Family Field in the months ahead:

  • The Chicken Cordon-Brew — fried chicken breast, shaved ham, Swiss cheese, beer butter onions and brown mustard on a potato bun.
  • Maxie’s Spicy Southern — fried chicken breast, zesty hot sauce, pickles and Comeback sauce on a potato bun (both chicken sandwiches available at Sections 112, 118, 123 and 126).
  • Enchilada Dog — corn tortilla dipped in salsa roja, melted cheese, sour cream, onion and cilantro
  • Bases Loaded Potato Dog — topped with cheddar cheese, bacon strips, sour cream, tater tots and green onions (both dogs available at sections 110 and 208).
  • Smokin’ Gouda Burger — twin burger patties, gouda cheese, beer butter onions and smoky chipotle ranch on a potato bun (Sections 108, 118, 125, 210, 228, 409 and 424).
  • Specialty Flatbreads — classic Margherita; fig & prosciutto; sausage, mushroom and onion; and pepperoni and cheese (J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard).

The team also announced three new offerings available in Maxie’s Club Level:

  • Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya — blackened chicken, andouille sausage, rice, zesty creole sauce and scallions.
  • Maxie's Creole Chicken Sandwich — fried chicken breast, provolone cheese, creole sauce and smokey mayonnaise.
  • Hurricane Cocktail — passion fruit, rum and dark rum floater.

New food trucks

It’s been a month or so since the Brewers first revealed “The Alley,” a food-truck park located on the left-field Loge level. At the time, the team’s president of business operations Rick Schlesinger pointed out that they had to build the trucks from scratch since the real ones wouldn’t fit. Now, things are far enough along where the Brewers were comfortable sharing the four local “food trucks” that will be on-site:

  • Chucho's Red Tacos — birria tacos, burritos, quesitacos and churros.
  • Hidden Kitchen MKE — grilled ham and cheese, Cubano sandwich, Reuben rolls and steak sandwich.
  • Nadi Plates — parmesan truffle fries, pepperoni or sausage calzones, and hot Italian beef sandwich.
  • Baron’s Gelato Cart — a variety of gelato flavors.

On top of that, the 3rd Street Market Hall Annex will get a new vendor in the form of Creta Mediterranean Grill, which will serve lamb gyros, chicken gyros, and loaded fries with tzatziki sauce and the choice of either lamb or chicken.

The Brewers’ local tie-ins continue with their previously announced Wisconsin Artist Series T-shirt Tuesdays (presented by Hupy and Abraham). The clothing-focused giveaway already had dates on the promotional calendar, and now we know the local artists who will be featured on each date, as well as what their work looks like:

  • Tuesday, June 10 vs. Atlanta Braves — Whitney Nettles (Milwaukee)
  • Tuesday, July 8 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers — Lost Files Clothing (Racine)
