Every week, the State of Sound podcast welcomes an artist from our monthly concert series into the studio to go deep on one of their songs. For more info on the live show, including how to get tickets, visit the event page.

This week’s guest is another member of our very first lineup from the relaunched State of Sound live show back in February: Wave Chapelle.

The Milwaukee rapper grew up on the sounds of artists like Jay-Z and Drake, and has put out a steady stream of music since signing to Yo Gotti’s CMG record label following his debut mixtape in 2014. Fast-forward to now, and Wave has released countless songs and notably partnered with the Milwaukee Bucks to become one of their official ambassadors.

Before his energetic, crowd-participatory set at that February State of Sound concert, Wave chatted with me about his most beloved (and possibly most inspiring) song to date: “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop.”

To hear the conversation and part of Wave Chapelle’s State of Sound set, find us on your preferred podcast platform or use the player at the top of the page. While you listen, head over to the State of Sound event page and grab tickets to our next live show April 6 featuring Hanna Simone, JINKSIE, Wire & Nail, and Allison Mahal.
