Each week on This Bites, dining critic Ann Christenson from Milwaukee Magazine and Radio Milwaukee’s resident foodie Tarik Moody dig into the city’s culinary and restaurant culture to help you find new spots, old favorites and the best ingestibles around Milwaukee.
After an audio-free August, Ann and I are very happy to be back behind our respective microphones and in your ears for this episode of This Bites. So, because this is a restart of sorts, it makes sense for us to talk about the meal most of us start the day with.
It was only last week that our fill-in culinary roundup talked about the trio of breakfast-themed lists Ann delivered for Milwaukee Magazine. But we saved the big one for last: a rundown of 17 places with some of the best breakfast options around, from quiches to quinoa bowls and French toast to tacos.
One of the nice things about the options Ann provides — and the ones we talk about on the podcast — is they’re all over the city. No matter which end of the Milwaukee area you live or work in, you’ll find something nearby. Make sure to check out the full list over at Milwaukee Magazine while you listen to what else we cover on this episode:
- Ann headed over to 1700 Pull Up (a place we talked about last year) for a review you can find in the new issue of Milwaukee Magazine.
- Kiuda will pop-up at Hot Dish Pantry on Sept. 20 to serve up Korean-American barbecue, with pre-orders starting Sept. 15.
- Lush Gourmet Popcorn will open in Riverwest on Sept. 22, taking over the former Klinger’s East space.
- 3rd Street Market Hall will get two new places this fall, adding seafood and Chinese-American street food.
It feels good to add proper podcast episodes back to the This Bites feed after our month away, and we appreciate you sticking with us. If you have a second and can do any of the usual things that help podcasts grow (like, subscribe, etc.), we’d appreciate that, too.
