I have been a huge fan of the series Dragon Ball and its various franchises. I was surprised to find out how many other people in Milwaukee especially musicians love the show too. So, when I heard that Milwaukee's geek bar, 42 Lounge will host a Dragon Ball-themed customer appreciation party on Sep 23, I got really excited.
For those who aren't familiar with this Japanese import, Dragon Ball is Anime series created by Akira Toriyama and originally began as Manga (Japanese comics) in 1984. It was adapted to Anime beginning in 1986 in Japan. The franchise continues today and can be seen on networks like Cartoon Network and Crunchyroll, an online Anime network.
From Wikipedia: The series follows the main character of Goku from childhood through adulthood as he trains in martial arts and explores the world looking for seven orbs known as the Dragon Balls, which summon a wish-granting dragon when gathered.
42 Lounge decided to host this party when they reached 9,000 fans on their Facebook page. They will be serving up brand new themed cocktails and shots for the occasion, including Dragon Ball shots. You could team up with a friend to get all 7 to unlock a special wish. At midnight, there will be Dragon Ball drop (balloons or beach balls), giveaways. Attendees are invited to come in their favorite Dragon Ball-themed cosplay. 42 Lounge obtained a lot of extra swag over the years that they will be giving away for reasons from, "Hey, I like your cosplay," to "You bought a beer and it had a winning sticker on the bottom."
42 Lounge is also looking for musical acts to perform, if interested you can reach out to them on their Facebook Page.
They will also have a special award ceremony, but the details surrounding it will be released at a later date. If 42 Lounge receives a huge amount of interest for the party, they will extend the party the following day on Sept. 22. For more details on the party, visit their Facebook event page.
