With huge crowds expected during Summerfest this month, Milwaukee's streetcar The Hop is doing its part to help shuttle them in and out of the Third Ward.
Today The Hop announced extended hours for each of the nine nights of Summerfest. It'll run until 1 a.m.
"The streetcar’s two Historic Third Ward stations are just a 10-minute walk from the Summerfest main gate, making The Hop a convenient and free option for accessing The Big Gig," according to a press release. "Festivalgoers can avoid the hassle and expense of trying to park near the Summerfest grounds by hopping on the streetcar, exploring downtown, and enjoying a safe ride both to and from the festival."
Riders can plan their route by visiting thehopmke.com/interactive-map/ or using the Transloc app, which features real-time streetcar information, at thehopmke.com/real-time-app.
