Milwaukee is not-so-subtly a jazz-friendly town. We’ve got an Estate, we’ve got it In The Park, and we’ve got it At The Vine. The last member of that list made a splashy debut at Humboldt Park beer garden last year — so much so that it will expand its offerings from four to seven nights of music starting Thursday, May 25.
“We’re adding three additional nights to the series this year because of the overwhelmingly positive response last year,” former Humboldt Park Friends (HPF) president Ignacio Catral said in a release. “This series has allowed us to not only support Milwaukee County Parks, but also indirectly support organizations like MKE Jazz Vision and the Milwaukee Jazz Institute — two organizations dedicated to promoting jazz in Milwaukee.”
HPF is certainly doing its part by once again presenting the Jazz at the Vine music series, which takes place on six Thursdays and one Friday installment June 2 to coincide with Bay View Gallery Night. Each night’s performance runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at The Vine, the beer garden centrally located at Humboldt Park. If rain’s in the forecast, you can find the show inside the nearby park pavilion.
Radio Milwaukee is one of the media sponsors of the series, dipping back into our history as a jazz station. You can view this year’s lineup below and get more information on the Jazz at the Vine website.
