A new restaurant set for former Tandem space, plus a 'This Bites' Valentine's preview

This week on the podcast, we talk about the new restaurant opening inside the building most recently occupied by The Tandem at 1848 W. Fond Du Lac Ave. in Milwaukee's Lindsay Heights neighborhood.

The new restaurant, 1700 Pull Up, will offer a soul food menu including stuffed turkey legs, macaroni and cheese, smothered pork chops, greens, yams and dressing, according to OnMilwaukee.

Chef and owner Rosetta Bond says she will carry on the community service legacy of Caitlin Cullen and the Tandem by building its staff from the neighborhood. 1700 Pull Up will open later this year for lunch and dinner.

Then, we give our Valentine's restaurant recommendations for romantic dining -- including a detailed discussion of what maks a dish "sexy" -- along with Tarik's personal menu for the occaision. Finally, we preview WMSE's 20th Annual Rockabilly Chili fundraiser and competition, back this year and set for April 10.
