Urban Spelunking: Visit two shuttered Milwaukee schoolhouses

It's back to school season, and we're visiting a couple of old Milwaukee schoolhouses this week on Urban Spelunking.

But the schools we're exploring won't be welcoming students back this fall.  In fact, they haven't seen a student walk through the doors in many years.

OnMilwaukee's Bobby Tanzilo took a tour of Garfield Elementary, 2215 N. 4th St., and Phillipp Elementary, 4310 N 16th St., both closed to the public.

During his tours he found some eerie reminders of the schools' pasts, but he also learned of the promising future of at least one of the buildings that is being redeveloped into affordable housing.
