Miller Park announces new dishes for this year’s baseball season

On this week’s episode, Ann & Tarik talked about the new food options at Miller Park just in time for baseball season; a new pop-up restaurant created by Milwaukee’s Vanguard and Underground Food Collective in  Madsion ; and where to find the best chocolate bunnies in Milwaukee. For the recipe of the week, Ann shared her family’s recipe for Pineapple Bread Pudding.

Earlier this week, Miller Park announced several new dishes that you can get this year’s baseball season including a bahn mi bratwurst, a chilled soba noodle salad, a supper club sandwich, a new “Wisconsin Dog” is made with beer jam sauerkraut and bacon, and more.

This Saturday (3/26/16) at 7:00pm in front of Hotel Foster will be a pop-up restaurant. The pop-up is a collaboration between the Chefs at Milwaukee’s Vanguard and Madison’s Underground Food Collective. They will be serving up Salvadoran and American street food like Salvadoran stuffed masa cough cakes called pupusas. The pupusas will be stuffed with a variety of fillings like queso, pork and blue corn, duck and chili, and veggie and blue corn. There will also be hamburgers and a wheatberry-radish salad.

Since Easter is around the corner, we talked about chocolate bunnies and the best places to get them in Milwaukee like Northern Chocolate and Indulgence Chocolatiers.

The recipe of the week is Pineapple Bread Pudding.

"We would eat this bread pudding on Easter with baked ham, potatoes au gratin (or mashed potatoes) and green beans or asparagus. It's really great, especially when the top is crusty and golden and the pudding is served warm with all the other dishes. God, I want to make it right now! It's a special family recipe and so good with ham." -Ann

Mix together:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar

  • Beat in 4 eggs, one at a time.
  • Fold in 1 pound of crushed, drained pineapple. Add 5 slices of white bread cubes.
  • Put the mixture into a greased oval baking dish.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Serve warm.
