On Friday, May 28, the man known as the godfather of rap, Gil Scott-Heron passed away at the age of 62. On this episode of Rhythm Lab Radio we paid tribute to a legend of spoken word. We featured Gil Scott-Heron's music and words, music that inspired him, and songs from artists who were influenced by his work. Plus we invited two Milwaukee spoken word artists, Ms. Cream and Nigel Wade, to recite some poetry in honor of Gil Scott-Heron.
