Diamond D created a Hip Hop Classic for Mos Def

This week's Seven O'Clock Sample segment if focused on Mos Def's 1999 album BLACK ON BOTH SIDES.  The Mighty Mos Def gathered an impressive list of producers for his solo debut, including the legendary Diamond D.  When you look back as his impact on the genre, it's fitting that D created the track simply titled "Hip Hop"

There are two main samples that Diamond D grabbed to create this track.  The drums come from Stanley Clarke's song "Slow Dance".

The main meldoy of the track, comes from David Axelrod's track The Warning Talk (Part II).  Check the sample at 1:28.
