The CAVT collective puts on local arts showcases back-dropped by the historic Charles Allis House. These events highlight impressive Wisconsin art in an equally impressive setting. On Saturday, there will be a collaborative performance of musicians, Ugly Brothers ( Bandcamp/ Facebook), as well as live painting by local artists, whose works will later be displayed in the museum. The historical beauty of the art museum is the perfect setting to enjoy the sights and sounds of Milwaukee art. Admission is 5$, which goes directly back into supporting these events and the performing artists. Along with admission, your 5$ gets you a free drink at the after party at Yield Bar as well as your choice of a soda or craft beer from Sprecher Brewing Co. (Rumor has it there may be free food as well…). For more information you can visit the event’s Facebook page. The event is on Saturday, February 1 from 6-9pm.
Coincidentally, Ugly Brothers were just featured in Milwaukee Mag’s top ten picks for January, a month’s end list of some of the coolest musical notes from around Milwaukee. Check out the rest of the list here for a nice roundup of news and some new releases.
