Decibully will be playing for one night only on Monday, April 14th. In honor of Milwaukee day (414) the historic Milwaukee band will be reuniting for an epic night celebrating all things great about the city we so dearly love. The concert will be held at Turner Hall Ballroomwith doors opening at 7:00pm. Decibully will also be joined by the bands Juniper Tar and Whips. Come out show your pride for the city.
Decibully comes back to us as a band synonymous with the city of Milwaukee’s history. The Indie Rock band formed in 2001 and were a staple at local venues throughout the 2000’s. The band got their big break with the release of their sophomore album, City of Festivals in 2003. The album quickly became the soundtrack to the city and showcased the band’s love for Milwaukee and the intricacies it contains. Decibully subsequently released albums such as Sing Out America! in 2005 and World Travels Fast in 2009. The band’s 2011 final self titled album served as their farewell from the music scene as the group disbanded and moved to different parts of the world.
Monday night is set to be an historic night. Decibully has not played together for 3 years. It is speculated that the band’s break-up was due to Ryan Weber’s tour in the Peace Corps. Whatever the reason, the band is back and ready to rock the night dedicated to the city of Milwaukee. Back in January, Milwaukee Magazinefeatured Decibully as one of their top 5 bands that need to get back together. Apparently they heard the call. While Monday will be a joyous occasion, it has been made clear that this will be a one- time reunion. There will most likely be no forthcoming album or tour dates set. However, for one night dedicated to the city of Milwaukee and celebrating its people and culture, one of the most emblematic bands will be back in action. It will definitely be a night to remember.
