Milwaukee’s concert scene has a lot going on, so we look at the shows coming up to find the ones you’ll look back on and be glad you went. Then we add them to our weekly Milwaukee Concert Picks.
There’s so much cool live music happening in the week ahead, I almost didn’t know where to start. So let’s go with a few highlights …
You’ve heard us play “Impressively Average” from Brigitte Calls Me Baby on-air, and this Friday you get a chance to sing it at the top of your lungs just a few feet from the band. They’ll be at Cactus Club with The Keystones for a show that starts at 8 p.m.
If you’re feeling more new wave-y, then head over to Mad Planet this weekend for not one but TWO nights with everyone’s favorite Smiths cover band Salford Lads Club. They’ll be at the top of a bill this Friday and Saturday that includes Substance 101 opening with the songs of Depeche Mode and New Order.
Finally, I wouldn’t be doing my job as the host of Kids Disco if I didn’t give you something to do with the kiddos. So how about a family-friendly dance party? Fox & Branch will provide the live soundtrack for exactly that at Anodyne on Bruce this Sunday starting at 11 a.m.
