Approximately 12 hours after posting a surprise album online, Donald Glover has removed it from his website. No other content or information is available on the new site, DonaldGloverPresents.com.
With everything going on the world right now, a little nice surprise can go a long way. And Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, just delivered one of those surprises.
About a few hours ago, out of nowhere, Donald Glover shared a link to a site called "Donald Glover Presents." On that site is what appears to be a live stream of a new album from Glover. Yes, it looks like Donald Glover just did a ' Beyonce' move.'
On the website, you can see an image of what looks like concept art for the album and a play button to listen to the stream. It's unclear if the artist will release it under his own name or the Childish Gambino moniker.
The first song sounds like a B-side from the album "Awaken, My Love." After that, the album sounds nothing like his previous releases. On the second track, the production reminded me of Kanye's "Yeezus." The third track sounds like yacht rock meets minimalism.
But not everything is new on the album, you will also hear his 2018 hit "Feels Like Summertime." The 12-track album also appears to feature guests like SZA, Ariana Grande and 21-Savage. If this is a brand new album from the multi-talented artist, it is what I needed right now.
