March is Women’s History Month. These 31 days highlight the contribution of women to landmark events throughout history and current movements that push the needle forward on contemporary women's issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights and sexual/domestic abuse.

March 8 was our fourth annual International Women’s Day takeover — 12 hours of female-focused jams that this year was sponsored by United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County and Alverno College.
It was an incredible day and an even more incredible playlist built with help from a variety of Radio Milwaukee staffers, who stepped into the booth to share their favorite tunes and the stories behind them. We heard music from every decade and every genre, highlighting female artists, musicians, producers and collaborations throughout musical history.
