Lolla lineup picks

We’re excited for all of the headliners this year: Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Travis Scott, The National, Vampire Weekend and the other Weeknd. We’re looking forward to seeing The Weeknd again after his solid Summerfest performance, ditto with Greta Van Fleet. Plus, we’ll get a redo from Bebe Rexha and GoldLink, who ended up cancelling their Summerfest shows in June.

Perhaps what we’re most excited about though, is seeing Grace Weber and Melvv rock this huge festival.

Lollapalooza 2017 by Roger Ho

Grace Weber

Saturday, August 4 at 1 p.m. on the BMI stage

We can’t say enough nice things about Grace Weber. She’s from Milwaukee and she’s been killin’ it around the world with Chance the Rapper and Towkio while doing her own thing as a solo artist and giving back to Milwaukee with her Music Lab program. She has this beautiful, soulful voice that she developed while singing in Milwaukee church choirs. She’s been heavily recognized for her collaborations, but her new singles and her Lollapalooza slot are proving that it’s her time to shine.

MELVV

Saturday, August 4 at 4:30 p.m. on the BMI stage

MELVV is from Milwaukee and coming-up quickly. 21-year-old Jeffrey Melvin, as he might be better known as in his hometown, is creating brilliantly produced music that’s caught the attention of Zedd and more. MELVV has popular remixes of songs from Louis the Child to Marian Hill, but also has some great singles of his own like “Anything Else,” which features Electric Guest. He’s also done Coachella, toured with Hippie Sabotage, Jai Wolf, Whethan and more. No big deal. Next up is Lolla and we can’t wait.
