You think just because there’s snow on the ground that Milwaukee’s festival season is over? Pft. It’s so NOT over, in fact, that the city’s creative minds keep coming up with new fests. Case in point: Otoñofest MKE, which organizers say is Milwaukee’s first-ever Latin alternative music festival.

Sponsored by the Lakebeat Music Academy, the family-friendly event will take place Nov. 12 at Arlington Heights Park, with music and other entertainment getting underway at 1 p.m. That lineup cuts a wide swath through the Latin alternative space, including rock, jazz, electronic music and country.

Representing the last genre in that list is an 88Nine favorite: State of Sound guest Alyssia Dominguez, who graced the stage for a July episode that — despite country not exactly being a staple of the 88Nine playlist — sounded wonderful on our airwaves.

In addition to Dominguez, artists scheduled to perform at Otoñofest include Brandon Payton-Carrillo with Lakebeat Social Club, Pulpa De Guayaba and Tlalok. There will also be a selection of local food trucks on hand to keep you fueled throughout the festival.
