Music on the Beerline makes its season premiere this Friday

Riverworks Development Corp.

One of Milwaukee’s many wonderfully free music series makes its season premiere later this week, when Music on the Beerline returns to the Beerline Plaza connecting the Riverwest and Harambee neighborhoods.

The 2024 debut takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. this Friday, July 19, with a show featuring funk-soul organ trio Smoke N’ Mirrors and the reggae-soul of Urban Empress & The Urbanites. The other two lineups for this year’s Music on the Beerline gatherings — which will once again space out its events rather than doing it all in one night — include:

  • Aug. 16 — Love, Peace & Soul and the Extra Crispy Brass Band
  • Sept. 20 — DJ Bizzon and Cache MKE

In addition to the music, the event’s marketplace is back to showcase local vendors to their community. Among those expected to set up shop throughout the series are Polished Embroidery, Jameelah Jewelry, Beauty from the Root, Say It Louder, Girl of the 21st and One MKE. Food trucks will also be on hand to keep you fueled for the festivities.

Music on the Beerline is organized by Riverwest Development Corporation, whose mission is to drive “social and economic development by aligning residents and businesses with specialized resources that strengthen Harambee, Riverwest and surrounding communities.” To learn more about the RDC and its Music on the Beerline series, visit the organization’s website or follow them on social media (Facebook, Instagram).
