Each week on This Bites, dining critic Ann Christenson from Milwaukee Magazine and Radio Milwaukee’s resident foodie Tarik Moody dig into the city’s culinary and restaurant culture to help you find new spots, old favorites and the best ingestibles around Milwaukee.
Here on the podcast, we’re used to talking about Milwaukee’s culinary news. For this particular episode, we get to see what life’s like on the other side by actually making the news ourselves. Sort of.
Earlier this week, Radio Milwaukee and Discourse Coffee announced a new partnership that will bring the innovative craft drink maker to our Walker’s Point studios. That’s right: The cafe space in the southwest corner will be dormant no longer. The announcement included a few details about the project and even some handsome promotional materials.
We cover a good amount of the key information at the top of this week’s podcast, but the two big things to remember are the target opening of January 2024 and the sneak previews happening throughout Radio Milwaukee’s upcoming fall drive. From 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Oct. 2-6 and 9-13, the Discourse folks will operate a pop-up right out of our community space on the first floor of 220 E. Pittsburgh Ave.
While that is clearly the biggest news item of the week, we still have more to cover from around the area:
- Turning Tables has a new team and a new menu to celebrate, which it’ll do at a grand reopening Sept. 23.
- The owners of longtime Milwaukee tofu-maker The Simple Soyman are looking to hand over their 40-year business.
- The Milwaukee Chef Collaboration Dinner is back to raise money for charity via an eight-course dinner Nov. 12.
Thanks for checking out what we’ve got brewing. Leave us a review and subscribe wherever you listen, and make sure to stop by Radio Milwaukee during our fall drive for something delicious from Discourse.
