Watch a sneak peek </br>of the 'new' Milwaukee Art Museum

On November 24, the Milwaukee Art Museum will hold a grand reopening for their renovated Collection Galleries. Six years in the making, the Collection Galleries will give the museum visitor a unique experience through the new gallery spaces.

“The new Milwaukee Art Museum is poised to set the standard for a twenty-first-century museum at the heart of a great city.” - Museum Director Daniel Keegan

Designed by HGA Architects, the expansion and renovation comprises of a two-story, 20,000 square-foot addition that overlooks Lake Michigan.  The expansion also includes additional gallery space, a cafe, sculpture collection and gathering spaces. The metallic-looking exterior is an earthy-toned zinc and copper panels compliments the War Memorial building.

The Milwaukee Art Museum will also reveal at the grand reopening the 10,000 square-foot Herzfeld Center for Photography and Media Arts.

“The Milwaukee Art Museum was one of the first major museums to start collecting photography in the 1950s. The Herzfeld Center for Photography and Media Arts continues the Museum’s tradition of leadership and establishes it as a national destination for this type of artwork.” -Museum Director Daniel Keegan

The Grand Reopening of the museum’s renovation and expansion will begin at 10:00AM on November 24 and will include a ribbon cutting, a special commemorative gift for the first 100 visitors, and a chance to win a lifetime Museum membership.
