In The Wings: Local music fest to raise money for public schools

This month on In The Wings, our theme is music.

And if you're a fan of Milwaukee music, you'll love an upcoming festival this month.

Arte Para Todos, a four-day local music and art fest, will span 25 venues across the city and assemble more than 100 local musical and visual artists.

And here's the best part -- all of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Milwaukee schools where art and music programs have been reduced or eliminated.

Milwaukee has so much talent.

Rose and her team donate their time (and talent!) organizing the festival, now in its third year.  She says the last two years raised a combined $40,000 for music and arts education.

At most venues, musical performances will happen right alongside live visual art, giving you a front row seat to experience Milwaukee's creative community.

And the venues are spread throughout the city to give attendees a chance to explore different neighborhoods.

"The hope is that people will leave their neighborhood and see an awesome band they love, then while they're there, discover new music that they haven't see before."

Arte Para Todos runs April 27-30 in the neighborhoods of Harambee, Bay View, Riverwest, Walkers Point and the East Side.  For the full lineup, visit Arte's official website.
