Check out Ann's complete story for the full list with all eight restaurants.

Taste of Lindsay Heights

Walnut Way Conservation Corp. will host a ribbon cutting and grand opening for its new cafe -- Taste of Lindsay Heights -- on Oct. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature vendors offering smoothies, salads, soup, bakery and more.

According to its website:

"Taste of Lindsay Heights Café is a new social enterprise owned by Walnut Way and set to open this summer at 1617 W. North Avenue. The Café provides a framework for food-entrepreneurs from the Lindsay Heights neighborhood to test, grow, learn and ultimately build their businesses. The Café offerings are tied to Walnut Way’s strategy to promote healthy, nutritious, fresh foods sourced within the neighborhood."

Listen to this week's episode for more about about the event, plus we've got info about a proposal for a new bar and food truck park on the corner of North Ave. and Humboldt Ave. in the former Zak's space.
