On Saturday, March 14, Milwaukee will celebrate Pi Day, and Milwaukee Magazine has round-up of events related to that circular treat. You can find events celebrating all types of pies, from savory, to sweet, to pizza pies.
In the podcast, Ann and I preview a Pi Day party at Crossroads Collective. Pies will be provided by SmallPie, and the party will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. MPS Art Teachers will also teach Pi Day crafts to the kids. Stream the episode for all the details.
World Championship Cheese Contest
A little over a week ago, the annual World Championship Cheese Contest took place in Madison, and several Wisconsin cheesemakers took home top prizes. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Wisconsin cheesemakers claimed the top spot in 48 of the 132 categories judged.
The competition was tough; the contest received thousands of entries from 36 states and 26 countries. Wisconsin’s Crave Brothers took home several prizes, including first place in the cheese curds category for its jalapeño cheddar variety.
