For today’s premiere, we’re happy to debut a new track from the Milwaukee supergroup Dramatic Lovers. Listen to the song “Fast As It's Made” from the new album "You Talk Loud" below!
First impressions
Bright and driving, this song is just what I needed to cut through this gloomy Milwaukee weather. Each phrase takes you in and out of pulsing drums and sunny guitar licks; by the third or fourth iteration, I found myself leaning in and bopping along, pumping an imaginary kick drum pedal.
As the the song builds, it grows in intensity, taking you to the top of a sort of musical mountain. By the end, you're left alone, while the song retreats. And that's just fine. It's nice up there anyway.
In the band's words
We got our name from a group of Italian anarchists that once held meetings in the building that is now the Cactus Club. Their name translated to "The Dramatic Lovers Social Club."
Factoring in all of our past bands, we have 30 full length albums between us.
We recorded this song (and the record) at our studio, Polish Moon, with Jason Todd (Cashfire Sunset) producing.
"You Talk Loud" comes out digitally May 25.
